6 Brain Foods for Writers.

Writing is so much work and strain on our brains, as writers we get absorbed in meeting deadlines or entering for competitions, such that we forget to take care of our health.


Here are six brain foods we gathered can rejuvenate your brain and build your body as a writer.
These foods are available but most times we tend to neglect the nutritious benefits they supply. They are:

1. Fish
2. Avocado
3. Coffee
4. Dark Chocolate

1. Fish

Did you know for every intake of fish, you supply your body with calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamin A, potassium and a host of other beneficial nutrients.
Boiled or fried, whatever way it is cooked, fish aids in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease, brain disorders and cardiovascular issues.

2. Avocado


Avocado supplies the body with more potassium than bananas. It is loaded with fiber and helps to regulate cholesterol. Avocados are known to contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which are two phytochemicals present in the tissues around the eye. They help the eyes to minimize damage including from ultraviolet light. Avocados are really good for Writers who spend a long time on their laptops and phones.

3. Coffee

A number of writers have love for coffee, but did you know that coffee, reduces the risk of heart diseases, dementia and reduces possible risk for depression and suicide.

4. Dark Chocolate

Chocolates are relaxing, and also come with nutritional benefits especially for dark chocolate. It reduces the risk of dementia and improves brain function. Nutritionists advice an intake of 1-2 ounces or 30-60g a day.

5. Nuts


 Most nuts hold vitamins and minerals. They also include magnesium and vitamin E. Cashews especially, are high in iron, zinc and magnesium, which improve brain function.

6. Water

Water has no enemy. Its everybody's best friend. It increases brain power and provides energy. Water acts as a detoxifier, it cleanses the body off toxins. Good intake of water prevents headaches, cramps and sprains. It regulates the body temperature.

So, Writers you may need to begin with these easy brain foods. Feed your brain the right meals and see it generate compelling stories.
